Casually browsing for M5s I found this:

My ideal combination, but no way in hell am I paying 30k for an e39 M5. Then I found this:

Looks sketchy as shit but so are most vehicles I buy. What say you oppo, assuming it checks out as not-completely-falling-apart, should I sell my 540i touring and buy the beat up m5 instead?

(my favorite part is the interior shot completely obscured by lens flare)

Hey should I buy a tired looking M5 from someone who couldn’t afford (or simply did not bother) to maintain it? I’ll throw in parts for another make of car for free. Only two of the tires are flat (rears from burnouts back when it ran). I can afford the M5 if I sell the reliable car that I depend on.

This is one of those cars that the list price is $11k but you spend $15k in repairs in the first year or two, right?

I don't know these things because I wouldn't touch a bmw without a nice warranty or an extra car or two to drive.

I have a few other cars I can/do dd, reliability/repair costs are not a problem as long as they’re semi-reasonable (i.e. can’t afford ferrari repairs but I don’t mind spending a few thousand a year if its something awesome). Gotta sell the 540i because I have reached my wife’s vehicle limit...

The guy claims he has been maintaining it and has receipts. Good point on the tires, didn’t even think of it that way. He also posted more photos to facebook under ‘smash and crash racing’. The more I learn, the sketchier it gets

Haha that is what I am thinking. This might be a good deal to flip, but I don’t know that I want another project right now, need to finish my e30 first.
